My heart, heaving from the trappings of sin,
wreaked with the stench of decay,
when I answered His call, in my pit of despair,
on that glorious and memorable day.
Idols then crumbled, with pedestals destroyed,
under people most loved and admired.
Kingdoms came down, giving Jesus the crown,
when the heat of His furnace was fired.
Temptations of evil fell through the cracks,
as heaven-quakes shook my foundation,
sifting all thoughts, not grounded in truth,
providing me new revelation.
Showers of “rhema” refreshed my new life,
with the daily wash of His sword,
cleansing impurities lying within,
finding treasure no king could afford.
The process not over, more tears were to come,
in the furnace of affliction and sorrow,
burning out dross, purifying my heart,
today’s pain melting gold for tomorrow.
Still smoking from heat, now ready to beat,
As He pounds my heart to conform,
to the image of Jesus, all glorious within,
wrought gold for His love to adorn.
