Yawn...

Good morning, Boy. You look awfully excited. Where are we heading? Oh, fine, make into a guessing game, I guess I'll have to figure it out on my own. But I'm smart like that.

Okay, Spanish-English Dictionary. Missions trip, below the border! Alright! All the Mexican food I can eat! I wonder if I'll run into that cute little suitcase again...oh, that's right, focus...

Wait...there's more stuff being thrown into me. Hmm...small trinkets, toys, and arts and crafts supplies. That means we're working with children.

Wait, children?!

No, please say it ain't so. You remember the last time that we went to an orphanage? A kid tried to stowaway in me because she liked you so much?

Boy, you DO remember that, right? You lost all of your clothes and your dad wasn't very happy about it. Though, your mom and sister laughed about it for days afterward.

Oh, you still write to that little girl...oh, I'm sorry...

Wait, what map did you just throw into me? Did you steal your sister's atlas? Oh, she let you borrow it...but what about this other map, it's of a country.

Bolivia?!

Where is that? I thought we were going south of the border, to Mexico, like we did the last time. Oh, right, it is south of the border, just WAY south.

So, what are we going to do down there, other than deal with children? Dramas, that's cool; oh—food! I love food! Oh, right, not for me.

Work gloves; oh, I get it, you're gonna be building stuff. Like what?

Oh, here's another book...'How To Build a Mission—for Dummies.' Gotcha...

So, Boy, what am I going to do?

Huh?

Okay, well, I'll figure that out later...

Hey, Boy? Don't let the plane people lose me...please? I don't want to go and visit all of South America without you... Oh, hey Boy, one more thing. Can you request that they put me on the top of the pile? It's kinda hard to breath on the bottom.

Great perspective—if only suitcases could talk (Or maybe it's better if they didn't, though I'm glad yours did!). Very good.

WOW... this was super creative! I did get a little confused at the end as I thought it was a car talking. Great writing!

Hehe - cute and clever. Got a bit confused to start, but caught on after a bit.

Funny. Clever and creative angle on the topic.

Fun little guessing game had me guessing for a few minutes. Had to go back and start over from the 3rd paragraph before I got it. I'm still laughing at the image of a duffle bag flirting with a little suitcase...is that what they mean by "carry-on" luggage?
Jan Ackerson 02/16/09
Cute story. Like some of the other commenters, it took me a while to figure out "who" was talking. Fun way to use the topic!

Fun perspective and creative way to cover the topic. Good job!

Your entry made me smile...and very glad my suitcase can't talk! I noticed that even your suitcase had a "slip of the tongue"...or is that strap? :-)In any case, it's good to be reminded that missions isn't about our comfort!
