Lord, You are the great I Am;
I bow in awe-struck praise.
Your greatness and Your mighty power
Must always fill my gaze.

For You alone can send Your Word
And hang the earth in space.
And there, supported by Your will,
It holds in perfect place.

And only You can breathe Your breath
Into a form of clay,
Imparting life, a gift from You
That man cannot repay.

I know but One Whose strength can build
The sea into a wall,
Or calm the storm by His own word
When waves do tower tall.

His voice has power that can break
A mighty cedar tree.
Yet wait, it also calls with love,
“My child, Come unto me.”

“For you are heavy laden,
And I long to give you rest.
The one who trusts My strength alone
Will find that he is blessed."

Lord, my eyes are fixed on You, my King,
Whose power knows no bounds.
With praise I call You, “Father,”
And “Amen” my heart resounds.

Very inspirational. Good poem.

I enjoyed the imagery of this piece - and, yes, very inspirational.

This flows so nicely...! (How do you do it?)

I wish someone would put music to this! I especially like the contrast of the Lord making the water into a wall for Moses then calming the wall of water for the disciples. That's such a neat comparison! The stanza mentioning "life as a gift" was also powerful.
