Commentator One – Zach: She’s two hours into her floor routine, but Octavia has yet to master her handstand. I have to say Sally, this is not looking good for the Brovanian team. What is their strategy, do you know?

Commenter Two — Sally: Honestly Zach, at this point I think they are hoping that her determination will pay off and the judges award marks for resolve, but let’s turn our attention to Mr. Devon Lutskya from the same team. Joining us now over at the uneven bars is BCD’s commentator, Bri.

Commentator One – Zach: Hang on, Bri, I thought the uneven bars was a ladies event?

Commentator Three —Bri: Apparently after his latest mishap on the horse earlier on today, he sounds like a girl, so he decided to swap teams. But, I understand he has never even seen uneven bars before, let alone performed on them so this could take some time. Back to you Zach.

Commentator One – Zach: Thank you Bri, and we’ll be back after this short commercial break.

Commenter Two — Sally: Welcome back to BCD’s coverage of the gymnastics competition here at these Olympic games. Well, let me tell you the tension here has been almost palpable. During the commercial break we joined Bri over at the rings. Here is a rundown of what happened. Bri?

Commentator Three —Bri: Thank you Sally. Yes — the excitement is over now, but let’s play the tape from just a few minutes ago.

Voice over: As the Brovanian team battles it out for a shot at medaling, they have pinned all their hopes on this, their final contestant on the rings. A hush comes over the audience as he approaches the rings. What is this? Hold on, is he trying to jump for the rings? What an interesting and novel approach — all other competitors have their coaches give them a boost. Ah, he had one — no — he lost it again! But wait, here comes his coach to help him. The coach is struggling to hoist him…

Commentator Three —Bri: Why do you think that is?

Commenter Two — Sally: Could it be that ‘Porky’ weighs 300lbs?

Voice over: Oh look, he’s up! Nope, he’s back down! And here comes part of the ceiling and the rings with him! I guess the rings just couldn’t support his weight. What a blow for Team Brovania.

Commentator One – Zach: As the host city puts the rings back together for the next competitor let’s move back to the floor routine where just moments ago Octavia was forcibly removed from the arena in a strait jacket where she was heard yelling, “I can do a forward roll without going sideways, just give me time!” Sally, any comments?

Commenter Two — Sally: Oh how the mighty have fallen! I remember when Octavia was at the top of her game and could execute a back flip after just 100 tries! Preparing to take the floor now is her team-mate, and arch rival Septunia.

Commentator One – Zach: I am afraid we will have to return to the floor routine in just a few moments. Stay tuned to BCD for your minute-by-minute coverage of the 2007 Summer Olympic Games.

This is humorous, but I don't understand what BCD is, or why it is nothing like the Olympics in reality. It may have been more visual if you had put writers and couch potatoes onto the teams because everyone else had been raptured :)

I enjoyed this. I can see the great humor here. I'm not into the Olympics myself so I was a little lost, but not because of the writing. It was very humorous however. I think this would be a good piece to be read aloud with humorous feelings, maybe as a skit. Good job.

This was funny. I liked how the names were similar to actual athletes, whether that was intentional or not! After mentioning "Commentator (#) -- (name)" the first time, I would have switched to just (name). I think that might make it a bit easier to follow. Great job though! I enjoyed it.

Brovania? LOL! This was very entertaining. I didn't understand the BCD, either, but it was still a fun read.

What can I say? Creative, yes; different, yes; and thanks for sharing this little tidbit of the upcoming Olympics with us.

Definitely full of laughs! Wasn't sure exactly what was going on in all of it, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the humor!

Hilarious, witty, full of irony and satire. I love it.

I loved this. My favorite sport to watch(and only sport I watch) is gymnastics. I LOL through the entire piece. Great work!

I'm doing backflips over this one! Original, entertaining and fun! Jo
