I think You know,
always and forever.
Lead me in Your will,
and I'll follow You on.
I fall, and fail, sadly-
You help me up each time.
I trap myself, or lock doors
BLOCKING.....What You ask me-
NEEDING.........Your reassurance
WANTING.........Just to be normal
SHOWING.........My weak moments
HONORING.......You by obeying
And You are so patient! Amazing
You unlock all the doors & bolts
They are indeed nothing to You
Chains melt, shackles vanish
And I am free to worship
Released to love You
Liberated before all-
So why do I seem to
return to the same
old cell as before
tightly fastened cuffs
imprisoned once more
whining for Your help
asking for a miracle
but unwilling to wait,
asking for what I want
trying to make a bargain
Are You tired of me
Let me rot in there
to teach me a lesson
learn to put You first.
When I seek Your glory,
truly do leap in faith
bolts shatter off
hinges become dust--
prisons knocked flat.
All power, raw might
could be mine in You.
I know it and hesitate,
wait for unlocking grace
I'm trying, and learning
growing deeper in You,
I want to unlock myself
then I'll exit my cell,
throw out the padlocks,
rid myself of my chains
truly apply my faith,
honor You every way
stop backtracking,
trust Your lead,
be completely,
unblushingly
forever--
unlocked
by my
Jesus
