She doesn't worry about the day ahead, because she knows her needs will be met. In fact, she is so consumed with her passion for all he brings to her life that she isn't aware of much else.
When reached by his rays, each like a tender caress, she lifts her head higher.
As his warmth penetrates her exterior, she expands and matures, until her childlike trust in him causes her to move from bud to bloom, opening wide to experience him more.
His influence changes her color, and makes her vibrant, eye-catching, and lovelier by the moment.
Other things nourish her, as well: she must be well rooted, and experience rain and wind and difficulty to truly grow tall and strong. She drinks, and sways, and abides without concern; she knows he is there, and his perfect luminosity will renew her again.
She has been thoroughly equipped to do what's asked of her, and she does "her thing" so well! Her beauty stirs the souls of people around her, not because of her appearance in and of itself, but because her very existence indicates intelligent design, and the involvement of a loving Creator.
Her willingness to be just what God would have her be inspires artists, provides expression to the romantic, and consoles the heavy hearts of those who mourn.
And as if the visual splendor she provides to the world weren't enough, she also offers up a fragrance that dazzles those who are lucky enough to smell it.
More importantly, though, she lifts up her appearance, her aroma, and her very self as a sacrifice to the Lord, the One she adores and worships with all her being, for she needs Him even more than the sun He provides.
She may be just a flower, but she's His flower.
Lord, let me be like her.
