A resident on Lundi Street
Across from old man Jay,
Kept her lawn immaculate
And watered twice each day.
Her neighbor (not the kindest man)
Often puttered 'round.
Beside him, on a choker leash;
An Irish Setter hound.
His dog--a bit rebellious--
Jay would drag along the walk,
And as he passed, she'd wave 'hello'
But, Jay refused to talk.
He did, however, find a way
To speak without a word,
For when her grass was wet with dew
A dog would leave [CENSORED].
"Not again!" she hollered
Which sent echoes down the street,
The scent of squishy doggy-do
Pushed up against bare feet.
Her hunch perceived that old man Jay
Of deliberate intention--
Forced his dog onto her lawn
To do the aforementioned.
But, how?
She pondered as she wiped
A foot against the curb.
I watch him as he passes by...
Her mind greatly perturbed.
Could it be, he walks his dog
Not once, just as suspected?
But, during early hours--
In the darkness, undetected?
Anger raged within her
That she scooped some in a can,
Walked across the battlefield
And chucked it on his land.
The wrath against her neighbor
--Executed absent grace,
Revealed a flaw within
And, oh, the grin upon her face!
The irony--
Although a foot in doggy-do
can reek beyond description,
Greater is the stench that comes
from throwing a conniption.
