Chasing ideas comes to naught.
Mindless fiend why do you vex
Leaving me with nary a thought.
I brainstormed for hours took a walk
To search for inspiration.
A flash of light I did not see
Only angst and desperation.
I strolled along a sunny beach
espied kids and adults at play.
I fed the pigeons in the park
But not a whim came my way.
The hour is late, time to retire
My head hits the pillow I sleep.
Oh, it feels good to rest in bed
The search for a story can keep.
Up at dawn I commune with God.
My spirit revives life is good.
A cup of coffee, oatmeal will help
To fuel the brain, improve my mood.
I boot up the old computer
Click on Word a blank doc pops up.
What shall I write, Lord, show me please.
Inspire this heart fill my cup.
Synapses spark an idea forms
Why didn’t I see it before?
Strong words are born the plot is sure
The story flows smoothly once more.
Thanks Lord, You rescued me again
Creativity reigns today.
Ideas run free, words make sense
As I compose and type an essay.
