Called it quits and said, “I’m tired.”
Would He give His notice weeks ahead,
Time to find a new department head?
Imagine stacks of applications
From billions with high aspirations.
With time for relaxation,
Without a care for men’s salvation,
Would a hobby occupy his time?
He likes to fish and mountain climb
With his longtime friends…Pete and Moses.
He’d have time to plant rare roses.
His nature is artistic;
His light shines impressionistic.
Would He pass time painting stratus clouds,
Dabbling in oils, leaving Earth endowed
With streaks of color never seen before
From swirling seas to speckled shores?
He could shine in every sport;
His lay-up skills would rule the court.
He might golf in space, tee off the sun,
Drive a star through Mars, score a hole in one.
But would He get bored of perfect scores
And wonder of Earth’s raging wars?
Imagine how life would be
Without a God to set us free.
Left alone, buried, in sinful lives,
Without His grace, no one survives.
But God won’t quit; no need to hire.
He’s there for us when we retire.
