Girl’s toys sing and swing
Jewellery boxes that swoon tunes
Fossil fuelled cars that can infume.
Untold calls ring-a-ling
Please leave our lines untapped!
P.C.’s that think for ink
One step closer to that missing link!
Tick-tock rotates our clock
Its chimes align our time.
Beep–beep…reminds that mike.
Feeding the machine, as you swerve the cuisine.
Television dulls the senses.
Dishes immortality unquestioned?
Clock alarm set for Sunday slumber.
Peaceful rest turns adrenalin buzzer.
Who’s in charge of our own devices?
To free lives so quickly encumbered.
Measuring our worth by the market’s latest numbers.
Simpler times so fleetingly forgotten.
Why do schooled fools (in homage) keep this image intact?
Perhaps to propitiate the ‘loonies’ from what was good cents?
Progression attends to the laboriously begotten.
Severed lives ever-so clinging on the thread to snap.
All caught up in the act of the Techno-Trap!
