Suzy was getting ready to sing her solo, but he could see her sway nervously. Billy knew that Suzy always got sick when she got nervous. He shifted and hitched his robe up. Suzy was gonna need her barf-bag.
He curled his toes in his new leather shoes and grinned at his mom and dad. His pastor winked at him, and then nodded at Suzy. He stared in amazement as Suzy’s pale face start to turn green. He ain’t ever seen someone turn that color before.
Why did Suzy always get the solos anyways? Everyone knew that she got sick when she sang. Oh, that’s right; Pastor was Suzy’s dad. Pastor was nodding crazily at Suzy and Billy blinked in confusion. He had been day dreaming about the mud puddles again.
He dug out the bag from his pocket, frowning as loose marbles, a piece of purple bubble gum, and a frog escaped from his pocket.
Billy leaned forward and whispered, “Pass this down to Suzy. Now!”
It was too late. Suzy was leaning forward. Her long brown hair was surrounding her face; Billy forgot about his lost frog as she moved in slow-motion making a gagging sound. Billy couldn’t see Suzy blowing chunks, but he could smell it.
Mandy was screaming and Billy could see where Suzy had targeted. Pastor was jumping up from his seat on the front row, running up to Suzy, and took her and Mandy down from the stage. Billy grinned; this was way better than running and jumping in a mud puddle.
Miss Rachel was trying to get the choir’s attention, standing in front of the pulpit that went up to her waist. She was tapping her directing stick on the pulpit when Billy heard a rib-bit over the chaos.
Miss Rachel screamed and Billy couldn’t hold it back any longer, he laughed and knew that this was the best church service in the world!
Who woulda thought that excitement happened at the pulpit!
