I've been so low sometimes in this life, Lord. You know my depths. You've sent just the right person, or word from Scripture, or song, or some other form of comfort. You've helped me up and out of the blackness so many times Lord, and I'll continue to trust You to lead me up.
Lead me through, Lord.
In times of loss, or confusion, or even questioning my faith, You've never left my side. When I didn't know how to pray, Your spirit prayed the thoughts for me that I couldn't. You've led me through the times of unemployment, or financial struggle, sometimes in mind-boggling ways. I'll continue to trust You to lead me through.
Lead me over, Lord.
I hate to admit it, but sometimes my attitude stinks! There have been all-too-many occasions in my life where I've been petty, or prejudiced, or anything but kind to my fellow human beings. THEIR actions and THEIR behavior toward me seemed to stand in the way like Everest, so that I figured I couldn't possibly be asked to forgive someone for THAT, could I? You have helped me over whole ranges of these mountains, and I'll continue to trust You to lead me over.
Lead me in, Lord.
In those areas that I feel inadequate (and that's a giant understatement), lead me in. Grab me by the ears and drag me, kicking and screaming, if You have to, but lead me in. I don't want to miss any blessing, absolutely not! But I also don't want to miss Your set-up, Your opportunity to make Your name known. I don't want my fear, or my sense of inferiority, to mess up Your glorious plan. So, I'll continue to trust You to lead me in. (Carefully.)
Lead me beyond-beyond all those limitations You didn't place in me, I did.
Lead me now, lead me tomorrow, lead me forever. I'll continue to trust You to lead me always.
Why will I continue to trust Him?
Why is God's leadership trustworthy?
Because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Lead on, O King Eternal.
Lead on, and I'll follow.
