I feel you at the edge of everything I know
Waiting
Calling
Silence
Why am I trapped within these walls of reality
When clearly you call from somewhere just beyond them?
If I make my way to the edge, will you come?
If I relinquish knowledge will I find you?
I stand on the brink of what divides us
Waiting
Calling
Silence
I feel you in the empty places where nothing hides
And light shines melding flesh to vapor
And there you are
And there I am
Your touch falls over me like a shadow
Feathers
Warmth
Shelter
My soul buries its face beneath your wings
I dare not move from here or look beyond them
I have entered the place where even I do not exist
Until you say I do and I say that I will for only you.
Don’t unfold your wings just yet
Don’t lay me down in time and space
Don’t go from me
Don’t go…
I linger at the edge of all that is
Longing to return
To where only you exist
The place where I knew only you
My soul yawns awakened by the dove
Cry again soul
Move in time and space
Remember the smell of His wings.
