A wretched poor soul.
A demonized childhood,
Would not let her go.
Gave herself freely,
To men without choice.
A meager sad living,
No road of re-course.
The face of an Angel,
That all men desired.
She deemed herself worthless,
For anything but hire.
Derided by many,
Disdained by who knew.
Her esteem at rock bottom,
Her respect was there to.
No one to hold her,
Not lovingly, not tenderly.
Her mind filled with only,
A sad childhood memory.
No one to show her,
Her worth was like gold.
No one to comfort her,
Without letting go.
No one to show her,
That life could be filled.
With bliss, with compassion,
And a love that was real.
Pain was the pendulum,
Her memories swung in.
She’d grown tired of living,
The way she had been.
On the bridge where she’s standing,
Jumping into the night.
Gave into the water,
To escape from her plight.
Now take her up gently,
Be kind and be caring.
Look on her humbly,
Don’t rush but just tarry.
Search for the pain in her,
While she lies on the shore.
This face of an Angel,
Who is living no more.
Be Christian while dealing,
With the soul no one reached.
Cover her wholly,
From her head to her feet.
Say a word over her,
She’s owed a few tears.
Calm the soul that was screaming,
That no one could hear.
Let her down easy,
To the cold ground beneath.
Where all her pain vanished,
As her life bid retreat.
Now look on her somberly,
Mournful wags of your head.
No detest in your sighs,
At this beauty now dead.
Walk away not forgetting her,
This soul that was missed.
When a word of our kindness,
Might have saved her from this.
Take time to think of her,
This maiden who slipped.
Through societies compassion,
Into dark cold abyss.
