Churning waters rising and falling
Pounding percussions, raging storm
Nature’s fury hurling majestic
Swirling, assaulting, unrelenting
And he shouts
Into the pelting rain and wind
“God is GREAT!”

Biting winds atop the summit
Glimpsing heavens, valleys, hills
Whooping, laughing, shouts victorious
Breathless quiet, awe fulfilled
And they proclaim
Spreading their arms wide
“God is great!”

Magnificent shock waves of muted color
Glory displayed, cut through rock
Near and far, deep and wide
Layers of years and life revealed
And he calls
Over the canyon’s edge
“God is great!”

Garden explosions of earthly rainbows
Reds, purples, yellows, pinks, and oranges
Freshly trimmed, plush grass carpet
White clouds framed in deep blue sky
And she exclaims
Weaving through the immaculate path
“God is great!”

Gently breathing, humming, sighing
Soft and sweet, new baby smell
Sleeping peacefully, face angelic
Snuggling deeper, wistful smile
And he whispers
Cradling his child in his arms
“God is great.”

Anointed images. I could almost hang this on the wall. God is Great! Thank you for your vision and talent of putting it on paper.

This is a wonderful example of what poems should be--rich in language and imagery. Excellent.

We were never meant to live without being reminded each day of how great God is. It's amazing how much many signals we miss! Thanks for the great reminder.
