I'm hep to "adversity",
I know it quite well;
But the word "prosperity"?
Hmmm?...doesn't ring a bell!
What would I know
'Bout society folks.
Fat Cats and Big Wheels
With their exclusory jokes?
'Bout Windfalls and heydays,
And having money to burn...
To me they were foreign
So I didn't learn.
But good old "Adversity"!
That's my forte';
It's right down my alley
Like an ill fated day!
Like being on the ropes
With ten rounds to go;
Or spending your last dime
On a horse that didn't Show!
Sure, I know hard times,
But God sees me through,
And I trust Him implicitly
To make my skies blue.
For I am the daughter
Of His Majesty the King,
So worldly possessions
Don't mean a thing!
But a Bed of Roses
Will be mine, you'll see,
When I go home to my Father
For Eternity.
