I hear him laugh
With sadistic delight
As I toss and turn
In my bed each night.

Then he whispers to me
With that wicked grin,
"You're hopeless, girl,
Give it up, you can't win!"

"Get away from me, Satan!",
I hear myself scream;
Then that horrible nightmare
Turns into a dream.
***

I envision my Savior
In a heavenly nook
Standing in front
Of a great big book.

He turns the pages
'Til He comes to my name;
Then He reads my record
As I cringe in shame.

For my page has marks
As black as coal,
So I begin to cry,
.."I'm a poor lost soul!"

But the Lord looked down
From heaven above,
And said to me
With such infinite love:

"Please don't cry,
And don't despair
For I have heard
Your humble prayer.

"I've erased your sins
Your page is white,
So sleep, my child,
In peace tonight!"

I loved that last line "..remind Satan of his future." This was a terrifc poem. So much truth, packed in such a beautiful package.

I liked your poem a lot. Your meter was a little off, but your rhyme was great and you had a nice message.

Oh yes! "When Satan brings up YOUR past - Remind him of
HIS future!" Great suff.

Great job. It captured me from the beginning and kept me throughout. I liked the line about our sins being "marks as black as coal". So, Jesus keeps a big bottle of "wite-out" handy, eh? :>)

A poem of hope. Satan can only keep us company if we don't keep Jesus close by. He alone can wipe out our sins.

From "hopeless" to "peace"!

I've been in this spot. Thanks for the reminder of victory. :-)
