Donít break me
Iím shattered and bleeding
Iím stumbling, Iím straining
To get this life
Out of Darkness
To put the pieces back
But I can not see
Donít break me

The path is black
Whatís right, whatís wrong
The burden is heavy
I canít go on
I can not see
Itís beating me down
Iím trying, God, canít you see
Donít break me

My mind tortures me
Memories are haunting me
Pain overwhelms me
Guilt consumes me
Desire burns within me
Rage builds up against me
Self-hate pushes me
Control escapes me
Love destroys me
Fate forsakes me
But nothing kills me
Why does death evade me
God, why donít you take me?
Why are you trying to break me?

Iím trying to be strong
Iím trying to move on
Take my heart,
My soul
My mind
But donít break me
Please donít break me

Donít break me

Donít break me

Ah, yes, we've all been there haven't we! Very apt echoing of the thoughts and feelings of the heart!!

Yes - we've all been there without realizing we're already broken. Broken in our own unique ways. And 'pain and misery' are the clouds that block the warmth of the Sun - but It is always there - no matter what.

A stirring piece, well worked. You could feel the other's pain in their calling out... Good Job, Moon.
