There is no place, no tiny space
Where Almighty God can’t go
He reigns in might, dispels the night
Such strength, we cannot know

There is no place, no unknown space
Where Creator God is not
The mountain peak, the ocean’s deep
All from His hand is wrought

There is no place, no second’s space
Eternal God won’t see
Each moment’s planned, held in His hand
Exactly as should be

There is no place, no far-off space
Where God is out of reach
He draws us near, and holds us dear
And hearkens to our speech

There is no place, no dreadful space
Where God’s love can’t be found
It’s long and high and deep and wide
Can’t be contained or bound

There is no place, no darkened space
God’s mercy cannot heal
He gave His Son, the battle’s won
His blood, salvation’s seal

There is no place in Heaven’s space
Where God can welcome sin
His purity means surety
For all who ask Him in

Bravo, this one is solid throughout. I loved the third verse rhyme scheme, how clever.

What a lovely worded reminder of God's omnipresence, omiscience, and sovereignty! Excellent rhythm and rhyme throughout. This one should be in a poetry anthology!
Linda Watson Owen01/31/06

Beautiful. I loved this...

"There is no place, no dreadful space
Where God’s love can’t be found
It’s long and high and deep and wide
Can’t be contained or bound"

Wow ... this is wonderful. It reads like a hymn. Put music to it and sing it in church on Sunday. Beautiful!

This poem was so well-constructed - loved every word. So much truth and power packed in so few words. Excellent!

Congratulations! I'm especially thrilled that a poet won it! I read so many comments that say "I'm not into poetry", or "I don't usually read poems, but.."; anyway, It was a beautiful one, and very well done! Kudos!

I wasn't surprised to see from your profile that you're a musician ... this sure does flow like music, and has content to equal many of those glorious hymns that have lasted for generations.

Congratulations on your win. Now, how do you go about getting it into the churches? (Oh ... and a melody ... but you can do that easily, I'm sure!)
B Brenton02/07/06
