In the beginning there was only Me.
There was no time or space.
I spoke the words, “Let there be light”
A line dropped down dividing day from night…
The longitude of love—space and time, creation’s first sight.
In the beginning there was only sea.
There was no resting place.
I spoke the words, “Let there be sky”
A line circled ‘round dividing low from high...
The latitude of love—space and time where angels sleep and fly.
In the beginning there was only man.
There was naught to hide his face.
I spoke the words, “Eat not of That Tree”
Man ate anyway and fell far from me…
Making a prison from space and time lines meant just to hold thee.
In the beginning there was only need.
There was sin to be erased.
I spoke the words, “Son You must go”
Behind the coordinates that divide the high from the low…
Saving all space and time now trapped by sin on death’s row.
In the beginning there was only hope.
There was the cry for grace.
I spoke the words, “Son hang from That Tree”
And turn enemy lines into the cross of Calvary…
Bending space and time to set captives free.
Creation will be like in the beginning again.
Sin, by the Son, was replaced.
I’ll speak the words, “Peace descend like a dove”
Rid every line that divides below from above…
Leaving behind only the lines of the cross—the cross that forms the coordinates of love.
