TITLE: The Plunge
By Carol Adams

He moved gracefully and effortlessly. His every step was methodical. To be number one was always on his mind. He would be king someday and all men would bow to him. Those thoughts became insatiable and tormented him at all times. As the torment grew, his desires deepened to be worshipped and honored among all. This is what he craved and lusted for. His selfishness started a seed that would forever change our mortality.

A clothes change was in order. He would have to match every given situation in presenting himself acceptable to all. His appearance would have to be beautiful invoking
desire within every person. How he presented himself would have to be an invitation to wrap this beautiful shawl around them. For every occasion, there would have to be a

The seed began to be watered by his desires to be king. He had to turn his back on God to implement his schemes that would attract all mankind through selfishness and self-sufficiency. This incredible plan would keep all men enslaved to him!

This plan had to be fool-proof. He had to keep mankind under his power, but how could that be accomplished.
Of course, I will use deceit, shame, guilt and doubt in their minds! I will call to them through seductions and desires that will inflate their egos. My lie will appear as a fascination to them, then a longing to satisfy their appetites. I will use my own poison arrow to infect their mind and emotions to have their cravings met. The process will start and will end in hopelessness and defeat. I will implant regret within them for as long as they live. Even if they choose to do right, I will remind them of their past sins keeping them depressed and rejected. I dont want them enjoying life or peace. I am great, am I not? I am the best deceiver there is!

In order for my plans to be tested, I needed to find a guinea pig. Her name was Eve. We had quite a delightful conversation. It started in innocence. She was beautiful, and, at that moment in the garden, she was alone and defenseless. Adam was working in his garden.

I began to speak to her as a friend. I gave her no suspicion that I was dangerous. Maybe she did not know I could talk, but it did not seem to alarm her that I could. As we talked, I began to implement my plans into motion. First, I would appeal to her senses about what she saw as good to eat as food and how it delighted her eyes. She seemed to like that idea. Then I appealed to her that she could be as wise as her Creator. In order for her to take the bait, hook, line and sinker, I had to get her to eat the fruit. I gave her the thought that she would not be complete unless she ate and enjoyed it. She had to have it and so she took the first delicious bite! However, my job was not completely accomplished as Adam now stood beside her. I used Eve to convince him that he also should take a bite. I stirred within Adam a need for self-indulgence, and he ate as well. You see, I can use any part of ones body to accomplish ruin and destruction in their lives. I had them in my clutches now! I won!

As soon as they ate my lie, their eyes saw disgust and shame. They did not know they were naked, so they ran to cover themselves with leaves. What was once beautiful became corrupt and stained. They took the plunge into a chasm of pain and miseries. Their lives were forever changed, as were their relationship to each other, to the Creator, and to me.

Boy, am I good or what? Wow! My little start started a landslide for all men forever. I am the deceiver, an angel of light, a roaring lion seeking whom I may devour with insidious schemes. Oh yes, I am also an accuser of saints. I accuse them of not having enough faith to believe, and that they are sinners and rejects. I am so good they believe my lies!

I will render him powerless. Stand firm and put your armor on. Resist. Pray at all times. We are in a war. - God. [Hebrews 2:14; Ephesians 6:10-18].

Ah, yes! The START of sin! Aside from the change in paragraph #5 from 3rd person to 1st person, this was well written and kept my interest throughout. Very creative piece of work. This "once beautiful Created Being" is now planet Earth's worst enemy, stalking us day and night! Well done!

This is very good creatively and you captured the thought process well, but the change in pov (from 'he' to 'I') threw me off a little. Nice writing however. God bless.

"For every occasion, there would have to be a
disguise." and "As soon as they ate my lie..."

I believe these words are the central truth of your story. Satan - the intentional deceiver.

Oh, how wonderful to know, "Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world." Thanks for sharing.
