There is much merit to finishing things. Good things, that is. For finishing bad things only blackens our already darkened world. In order to finish though, we must start somewhere. Start at a point, start at a place, start at a time. For where there is no starting, there is no finishing.

Toward this end, we must finish our race toward salvation. In order to finish we must start. Start with our acceptance of the good Lord and finish with our willingness to never lose sight of His mark. This is the most crucial start and finish we can ever engage. For where all is lost, then all is hopeless.

Thus let us bear our burdens with sanctified grace: Grace becoming of the holy saints and angels, whose pearly white essences have secured both their start and finish of their race to eternal happiness. Let us look to them as models of our initiatives here on earth, while we wait patiently for the Redeemer to redeem.

Therefore, let us start things, good things, and let us finish these in time: the finish to our start in our walk with God.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. A good comment on the importance that if you don't start your faith journey, you'll never get there.
