Procrastination seems to rule
My life most every day
And then I have no time at all
Iíve frittered it away

Poems, stories, and the like
Sit lonely in my files
And wish that I would visit them
If just once in a while

Knowing that Iíve reached ďthe endĒ
Of something, brings such joy
While hanging sentences and lines
Serve only to annoy

Curse that dreaded writersí block
And all that draws away
From finishing this work of art
Without one more delay

Iím so glad my Lord above
Is not at all like me
Perfectly completed work
Comes as a guarantee

With Him, the many odds and ends
We see are not a threat
But just a small reminder
Heís not finished with us yet.

So I struggle forward
But determine to take heart
Although itís hard for me
Thank God, You finish what You start.

I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Ė Philippians 1:6 (HCSB)

Very good, lighthearted, but with a lovely message.

A great poem! Great rhyme and rhythym...and also a great message! I loved it! I am so grateful that God finished the Plan of Salvation for us - and didn't throw in the towel before it was finished. I thank Him every day! And thank you for sharing this delightful poem with your peers. Well done!

So many truths wrapped in a well written, very readable, enjoyable poem. Loved your unforced rhymes. Yeggy

This was lovely. Can I suggest that you send this to a magazine? Many publishers are looking for fillers and I think this would be great. We all have unfinished projects - writers or not. Well done.
