I, too, had my perspective changed by the book Hind's Feet on High Places. I loved your personalization of the lessons learned. These Writing Challenges offer a wonderful place to tell our stone stories.

This is great, I love it, especially when Jesus shows up at the end.

Very well done. Impressive and touching.
Wow my friend, you nailed it with this beautiful piece. I could feel the doubt as it nagged at the MC!
I have some tiny red ink. Put hyphens between words put together to form one modifier (heart-to-heart talk). Some editors suggest writing out numerals to a hundred. Lastly, I noticed a couple of clichés that might be more powerful in your own words, but then again sometimes clichés are just right.
I think you did an outstanding job of making the stones different textures. It really added to the story. I'm so happy for you. Congratulations on making the top three. Happy Dance!

I was in total shock when my entry placed as well as it did. I guess I'm not a very good judge of my own work.

Thanks all for your kind comments and encouragement.
