Sometimes, when I am all alone,
I'll close my eyes and dream of home;
A place where captive souls, like me,
Are loosed to live forever free.

Beyond the confines of this chair,
I'll meet my Savior in the air,
At last, an equal with the crowds,
I'll prance and dance among the clouds.

And all who look upon His face,
Will feel His touch of healing grace.
The lame will walk and blind will see;
He'll vanquish disability.

But as for now, I'll persevere,
And bear my cross year after year;
I'll praise the Lord with joyous hymns,
So eyes see Him, not withered limbs.

And just as wheels beneath me roll,
My faith will help support my soul,
With loving heart and mind secure,
Until the end, I shall endure.

And if, at times, I feel alone,
I'll close my eyes and dream of home...

I suspect you might know William! Or this might be a methaphor for someone you do know. Either way it's a powerful poem, simply told but not simple. Particularly liked: 'And just as wheels beneath me roll/My faith will help support my soul.' Yeggy

Nice rythm. Very pleasing to read. Do you have a lot of poems? If they are as well written as this I think you have a nice collection that should be published. That's my humble opinion anyway ;) Maybe you all ready do! lol Great job.

This was masterfully written. Creative take on the topic of "Home." The poem flowed perfectly. Although it was a shorter piece, the power of the message is undeniable.
Blessings, Lynda
