I feel so helpless, and frightened. I’m in such disbelief that I’m here, and yet, I’m not surprised either. All of the warning signs were in front of our faces, but most chose to turn a blind eye. I wanted to ignore what I saw, but my conscience wouldn’t let me. I had to speak up and share what I was learning with others. Most laughed me off, telling me I was crazy. Sometimes I actually felt crazy, and couldn’t blame them for their responses. But then the incident yesterday proved me right all along.
David had already left for his business trip, so I was alone. He would be gone for three more nights so aside from working, I planned to get other small tasks completed. I could do more writing before he came home too. David would listen to my theories, but I think they made him uncomfortable. In recent months I found myself visiting web sites that spoke of the many conspiracy theories and the rumored elite group called the Illuminati. At first I was just curious and found some of what I was reading to be way out there, and virtually impossible. But then I started reading about the possibility of our President declaring Martial Law, just in time to prevent the upcoming Presidential elections from taking place. The more I read, the more intrigued I became, and before long, I was posting my own blogs on the subject. Looking back, I put myself on the grid, so to speak.
Contacts I had made via the internet, as well as some of my close friends and I, were having conversations about the race riots that seemed to be occurring daily. Also discussed was the increase in movement of military equipment to cities where there were no military bases. We couldn’t help but wonder what was taking place, and what would happen if the President did declare Martial Law? Could it be that our own government was inciting these riots on purpose, causing our own citizens to lash out against each other, providing a plausible reason for declaring Martial Law? Our very freedom could be taken away with no warning, should this event come to pass.
Yesterday, I was in the middle of emailing one of my fellow theorists about the fact that there are already FEMA detainment camps throughout the country, prepared for large masses of people, and more specifically, American citizens. We were discussing the fact that it is very likely some of the first groups of citizens to be sent to these camps would be the evangelical Christians. I shared how these very words were spoken by Glen Beck in a YouTube video I had seen. Without warning, the lights in my house flickered and my computer literally shut down. Immediately, I heard pounding on my front door.
“Open up! This is the National Safety Service!”
In a daze, I could see and feel my feet walking toward the front door, and before I was close enough to turn the door knob, the door was kicked in and flew open, hitting me on the forehead. The force of the kick sent me backward, but two men were already at my sides to catch me before I hit the floor. This was not happening. Both men were dressed in full battle fatigues, rifles in hand. They were quite rough as they pulled my hands behind me and closed the handcuffs tightly around my wrists.
“What have I done? Where are you taking me?” I pleaded.
“Our Commander has declared a state of Martial Law, and you have been deemed an enemy of the United States government. You are being escorted to a new location for a period of prolonged detainment. Remain silent!”
Now I sit here alone, yet I’m among strangers who look dumbfounded and even more frightened than I am, if that’s possible. Families are gathering together, holding each other closely. Children are crying and clinging to their mothers. I see faces full of fear and despair, and faces full of anger. I’m reminded of the Holocaust pictures from when I was in school.
I felt my eyes stinging as the tears started to flow. I can’t tell you the relief I felt when I heard David’s voice coming closer to me. I looked at his face and could see the fear in his eyes as well.
“I’m so sorry, baby. You were right. You were right all along.”
