If youíre wondering who asked Adam to eat
From off the forbidden tree,
Wonder no longer my evil-enticed beloved
He ate it all because of me.

If youíre wondering who was the first to hide
Under fig leaves from a tree,
Wonder no longer my skin-clothed beloved,
We all had to hide all because of me.

If youíre wondering about the sacred law
That states he is cursed who hangs from a tree,
Wonder no longer my fellow-convicted beloved
All laws were made all because of me.

If youíre wondering why our savior
Had to be nailed to a tree,
Wonder no longer my unfaithful beloved
All of Him was crucified all because of me.

If youíre wondering about the song of salvation
Thatís now written on leaves from a tree,
Wonder no longer my long-lost beloved
You can read all about it all because of me.

If youíre wondering why Iím not ashamed
To confess it all about every tree,
Wonder no longer my grace-covered beloved
The Tree of Life is open for us all because of me.

You stirred my thoughts with this. Yet, I am still not sure if the "me" is me or if it is Satan. But, you give me much to think about as I consider the path of God, man, and Christ through the history you referenced. Perhaps the "me" is the sinful part of me. Well done!

I am still wondering about this piece. The more I read it the more I think "me" is every single one of us, and that God made all of it happen for each one of us as if we were the only ones. Very interesting idea. I have heard this before, but never from such a stark sense of responsibility. Your transparency is a leadership gift. Thank you.

Although I do not agree with the idea that the "TREE" and it's descendents are at fault for Adam & Eve sinning; it doesn't take away from the fact that this writer did a very nice job with their thoughts on the subject. Controversial? Yes; but very well written! We're here to review and critique - not to debate the issue. Fine job!
