vines of life are everywhere. Can you see them too?
Sons with father’s ways and build, daughters with mom’s smiles,
time and nature join to weave vines both tame and wild.
Have you wondered how it is a youngster seems ‘spot on’
a copy of an earlier man, a generation gone?
It’s interesting beyond mere words to see this vine of life
entwining those gone on before with those yet to arrive,
But greater than appearance is the working of life’s vines
as faith that reaches from the heart grows on renewing minds.
Grandfather’s faith weaves tendrils through time’s roadways from the past
and finds new hearts, a ready soil, in present linage paths.
Grandmother’s trust in God above does not die though she sleeps.
The trust she used to face her fears vines on past death’s dark reach.
Their God still honors promises He made before they lived,
and generations after them are taught by trails they leave.
Life’s vines climb on in many forms, but none so strong or fine
as are the ones blessed by our God, the Master of the Vine.
“Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments;” Deuteronomy 7:9 (NASB)

BEAUTIFUL! This so fits my Grandmother who told us before she died how she had prayed for all generations to follow her. You have expressed it so well. Thank you.
