You rejected me
I came back
You made light of my words
I came back
You denounced my name
I came back
You denied knowing me
I came back.

You beat me, bruised me
Hung me upon a tree
From a distance cursed me
Yet still I came
And I will yet come
In my full might and presence
This time, so once again
You will say, “He returned
For me,”

For the bellows once subdued
Now roar; tongues long silent
Await the resurrection
To speak again; there will be
No more floods, no more
Hurt; there will be no more searching
Only finding, discovering
Even more than in your youth.

For though you rejected me
You came back
Though you belittled my words
You came back
Though you denounced me
You came back
To worship my name.
You beat me, bruised me, yet
Despite your curses
You came back, and when I come
I bring with me bounce-back ability.

The one beautiful Eden
Will grow and flourish into infinite paradises;
You will know right from wrong
Yet you will cling only to what is right;
The serpent will bow

To me, yes, and from Earth’s sullen ashes
Will arise a pure and sweet love.

Your contrasts in the stanzas, between "who" came back is good. I enjoyed your message contained in this rhythmic rhyme.

Praying for your bouncebackability through Jesus, our blessed Messiah . . .

This was beautiful. It ebbed and flowed, just like the circumstances you describe. It had the feel of an ocean tide, hitting the beach; retreating. Crashing ashore again, then falling away once more.

Usually I most admire poems for their clever use of words, or the artistic way the words are strung together, but this made me FEEL the pulse of your poetry.

Great job! And, I am praying for your surgery today.

God Bless!

I liked the contrast between "I came back" and "You..."

There are some deep thoughts here worth more than a simple read. Well done.

Praying for your surgery.

Blessings.
