Did someone “unfriend” you on Facebook?
Jesus is a friend for life who never changes in His love for you. Whether you speak to Him of your joys or your concerns, He is always listening.

Are your Scrabble on-line friends all busy?
Get the old board game down from the top of the closet and play a game with your family. The kids will love it.

Are you tired of reading recipes on Pinterest?
Bake a cake and invite a neighbor to share a piece, warm from the oven, with a cup of coffee and some friendly conversation. Talk to her about your Friend who always cares.

Is your e-mail filled only with spam?
Write a newsy letter to a faraway friend or a note of appreciation to someone who serves quietly in your church to send by “snail mail.”

Did your computer just suddenly stop working?
“Scroll” through the Psalms and read some of your favorite verses. Grab pen and paper to write your own poem of praise to the Lord.

Is there nothing of interest to watch on TV?
Take a long walk and fill your mind with the images of the beauty God has created and consider all your blessings. Lose yourself in the pages of a good book.

Did you get an unkind text message or lose connection while talking on your smart phone? There is ever an open line with never a broken connection when you pray to God—the One who is good all the time.

Even if you have no problems with any of your technical devices, you can choose to disconnect from them to spend time reconnecting with God and nature and family. Free yourself for quiet times of reflection and for making yourself available to serving others in His name.

This is so lovely - like a breath of fresh air! My dear old mum used to use the phrase 'sanctified common sense' which I think really describes this inspiring devotional piece of writing. Just great. Thankyou.

What a kind and gentle reminder that there are other options, other things we can do that help us to re-connect with God, friends and family.

This flowed like a beautiful piece of poetry and read like a well written short story.

Great job.

Great job with the topic...and thanks for providing so many options to the readers to think about instead of "technology."

God bless~

This is a 'devotional" message that is profound, yet easy to grasp. Quite worthy of being among the top ten!

Such wonderful wisdom in this gem! Even though I'm comfortable with the use of technology, I choose to keep it minimal in my life. But I still garnered a lot from your piece. Congratulations!

Great reminder, Verna, of what is really important.
