Cold Words
Covered in faith like a blanket of snow over a barren landscape
Showered in Grace, torrential, like sand pouring through an hour glass
The Spirit blowing full and free across leafless trees
Topping up and revitalising the summer drought reservoir
The cold winter freezing like molten lava rushing down a volcanic island slope to reach the sea
Angels crashing like storm waves into sea defences, defending all from hells creatures
Disciples preaching, striking out like bolts of lightening, illuminating, enlightening
Flooded and swelling rivers carrying words of the Lord through frosted valleys, muddy plains and cold streets
Gods love clear and pure like iced over ponds
Sparking warm flames in some, keeping hope alive in dark long nights
Lost lambs found, huddled together, crowds wrapped in fleece overcoats
Surging through veins and minds like rain water along gutters, spilling and overflowing.
Seasons change, new growth dying back to form solid oak
humid and saturated in Christ’s love
Winter a time to give warmth and shelter
