Inquisitive thoughts regarding her sexy new neighbor led her down a path of destruction. Daydreams became nightmares as her life spiraled downward. The man’s sweet façade had initially covered up the poison festering within him. . .
Keep me tethered to Your vine,
May your ways also be mine
Let me not become entangled
in snares that tease as they dangle

The intrigue of a new “high” wrapped its enticing fingers around her mind and squeezed until she dared to give in. . .
Help me not be led astray
A decision must be made today
Discernment now I must employ
if I’m to live in peace-filled joy

The runaway, seeking freedom through rebellion stared solemnly at the dirty cell walls, wondering how did things go so wrong. . .
I need forgiveness, reconnection
to those who loved with deep affection
Will they offer one more chance
Though victims of my circumstance

Dabbling in the occult at the onset was adventurous, until darkness sunk its talons into my soul. . .
The pit is deep, it drips with slime
Goodness buried under crime
I cry to Him who I once knew
Please light the path that leads to You

Drawn in by the crowds who enjoyed winning big, gambling debts buried him like angry waves on a dark sea. . .
The lure was money, but its attraction
only brought dissatisfaction
Learning there’s no instant cures
Needing One whose love endures

As the ragged pages blew in the cold winds down lonely streets of despair, slivers of sunshine began piercing each writer’s heart. Their cries were heard by the One who listens and responds to petitions for help. His love put darkness to flight as He embraced the lost and lonely.

I LOVED your entry. Beautiful prose, lovely poetry, evocative images and a lovely picture of Jesus seeing the pages. So creative.

Your unique presentation guiding us to peer into these personal struggles, which were being carried along hither tither by the wind and written in poetry format was brilliant. Well done and congratulations on your first place overall win!
