TITLE: Bless Me Now
By lynn gipson

Pardon me, a tissue please?
Bless me now, I have to sneeze,
Fields of lilies all in a row,
Make my blooming allergies grow.

Watery eyes make visions blurry,
Though I know why, so I don't worry,
See the buttercups? What a delight!
I'll have to take a pill tonight.

My breath is getting kind of wheezy,
Sunlight beams through air so breezy,
Dandelion fuzzes float so pretty,
My eyes are getting damp and gritty.

Now my schnozzle is turning red,
With itching and twitching I so dread,
Beautiful flowers are everywhere,
So I sniffle, and yet I stare.

Blooms a million shimmer my world,
Petals so gently becoming uncurled,
Violets spring beneath the sun,
God's glory shines with every one.

This is the season of all rebirth,
Springtime's renewal of this old earth,
Life bursts forth with all it's might,
Sharing a glimpse of heaven's delight.

I would rather have these flowers,
And teary eyes that rain like showers,
Than be without these heavenly hues,
Of yellows, reds, pinks, and blues.

So for now I'll just ignore,
A tickling throat and nose so sore,
Pass that box of Kleenex, please,
And bless me now, I have to sneeze!

Wonderful amusing piece! I could not write a poem if I had a gun to my head so I respect those who can!
Great job!

You never disappoint. These gems that just seem to come unbidden make you sparkle. God bless you. No sneeze required.

Delightful and charming, this piece is humorous, yet glorifies God as Creator. Very enjoyable read. It kept a good rhythm and rhyme all the way through. Bless You!

Matched couplets are always fun ... this poem especially so, thanks for the smile.

This is absolutely darling! My hat is off to you! Anyone that can write such a gem of a poem about sneezing, watery eyes and such should get an award. It takes real talent to take a topic such as this and write a poem that not only reads well but gives glory to our Lord. Thank you for this one kiddo, I liked it very much.

Simply wonderful! I was smiling the whole way through. I think one of my favorite parts was "See the buttercups? What a delight!
I'll have to take a pill tonight." Such a fun piece! Still smiling! :)
