When I gaze into the midnight sky
A shower of golden dust
Meets my eyes,
And I reach my hand
To catch the strands
That fall from distant lands.
I taste the gift
From those far-flung stars,
And their magic seeps into my heart—
My mind starts scheming
As my heart is dreaming,
And my soul gives birth
To a novel vision
Beyond my life on earth.
I long to touch those heavenly places
That peek at us, with beauty
Shining from their faces;
I need to conquer the realms of the sky,
But I don’t have the power to fly—
So I will climb it step by step
And do what no one else has ever dared:
I’ll build myself a flight of stairs!
I’ll use the moonlight’s silver beams,
And glue them all together
With stardust in the seams,
And find a way to reach my dreams.
Millions of miles
Will take a while,
But I will do what I must do
And start my journey
With a step or two.
