Miss Prim said I shouldn't wear trousers;
No frilly collars nor tight blouses.
She said nice girls should wear a dress,
Below the knee and little less.
That Christian girls should dress demurely,
If they desire to live most purely.
Miss Prim said dress colours should be drab;
With little colour or just a dab.
She said no trinkets must adorn,
Just, little lipstick could be worn.
A touch of rouge for cheek colour only,
To stop the fretting that you're poorly
Miss Prim said boys should be good as well;
Not to dress as if adorned for hell.
No built-up heels to make them grow,
And scruffy hair's a no, no, no.
Boys should endeavour to be neat and trim,
Not just fat slobs but sleek, clean and slim.
Miss Prim said we should look to our dress;
And be spruced, tidy and always fresh.
She said the Lord will hope we know,
What to reveal and put on show.
So let's all receive what she's got to say,
To provocative dress let's say nay.
