Can you even comprehend?
Do you see the way that this
Ballet is going to end?
Dancer on the stage, collapsed;
Broken, bruised and bleeding.
Can you taste this cup of mine?
Can you share my beating?
I have but one thing to ask;
Will you live your answer?
Will you give your hopes to me?
Treat you dreams like cancer?
Leave it all behind so I can
Make a home within you?
Empty out yourself until there’s
Nothing left; no residue.
A truly empty vessel is
One thing I must require.
Not one shred of anything
Your own heart may desire.
You must beat within me so that
We can become one.
Every thread that once was you must
Become frayed; undone.
You can never rise with me
Until you’ve tasted death.
Go without the air you’ve known,
I must be your breath.
Do you understand just how
Complete your death must be?
I drank you and then I died;
My bride, you must drink me.
You must drink me.
