Blessed is the man that trusts in Jim.
His station in life had seemed so grim.
Since the age of thirteen,
Jimís been in and out of trouble,
and to all of those around,
Jimís soul was in rubble.

But, they that wait upon the Lord
mount up with wings through His accord.
And, Jim became aware of that
while sitting in a soup kitchen chewing the fat
with a man and his wife
who came to cook on that day
and to pray for the souls who had not found the way.

Through the prayers that they said,
Jim had been truly fed.
So, he repented his transgressions
with a prayer of confessions
for the reality of sin
that his criminality had been.
And, now, since he's tasted the Lord
and found he was good,
Jim goes out and ministers
all over the hood
in search of more lost souls
who are misunderstood.

I loved this well thought out and smooth flowing poem that is prolific in its message. Thank you!

God Bless~

I enjoyed this and impressed how you could tell such a story in so few words, not to mention with rhyme and rhythm. I like the twist on the topic too. It's outside the box for sure.

Very succinct and descriptive - and all in rhyme as well! I'm only guessing that "over the hood" carries some sense of reaching out, but that may be simply a case of being a sheltered Aussie. Well done

Well crafted. I liked that you were actually able to convey a story (Jim's) in such a short space. Good job.

Lovely poems with great truths. God bless!

I enjoyed this poem. It flows well and it is a good reminder to all of us not to give up on those who seem as if they can't be redeemed from the life they chosen but with God all things are possible! This poem conveys that very well.
