So I guess you could say I’m the person to dare
‘Cause I live out my life with such ‘devil-may –care’

I’m reckless with boldness and live only for now
If you think I can’t do it, well I’ll show you just how

I love jumping from airplanes at ten thousand feet
And think wrestling a crocodile is oh, such a treat

I love revving the engine as I’m banking a turn
To catch the eye of passersby when it’s rubber I burn

I’ve made jumps across canyons with rocket engines a-whining
Enjoyed blowfish filets as I’m out sushi dining

Caught air in the mountains skiing fast down a slope
Turtle rolled through barrel holes was really sick and it’s dope

I’ve hiked mighty, mighty mountains overlooking their tops
And crossed rope bridges over gorges with menacing drops

Yes, I’ve even fought with a few tigers like Tarzan in my day
And flashed a cape at charging bull, standing firm to shout 'OLÉ!'

Peddled bike across ramps pulling off gnarly tricks
Deflected stealth ninja jujitsu with precise lethal kicks

I’ve stared down a hooded cobra and a python I’ve fought
Swam with jellyfish all around me and deadly shark have I caught

And there is nothing I’m afraid of, there is nothing I won’t try
But, no, oh, wait a minute…‘cause that’s just one big lie

You see…
I’d rather be out fighting the Heavyweight Champion of the World
A three round fight with all my might
Than having my hair curled.

Yes, I’d rather wrestle a ‘gator or a great big old brown bear
Out in the pond, or on my lawn
Than tackling heels to wear

And I’d rather shoot out of a cannon or a fire suit I’d don
To help me walk through fiery flames
Than fight to get pantyhose on

So, although I live near fearless, one day I may face my fear
Of perfume sprays and pink bouquets and staring in the mirror.

Yeah, I’ll go ahead and say it, although it’s a little hard to admit
That if anything really scares me
Being a girly-girl is really it!

Oh I love this! What a delightful story. I could feel the adrenaline surging off the page. I think the ending is perfect.

This was an interesting read, I couldn't figure it out at first. Then with the curlers and panty hose, I kind of caught on...nicely done. I enjoyed this.

God Bless~

I'm not sure how appropriate it is for a male to comment in any sympathetic tones, but my testosteron-imy is simply to say that I enjoyed the twist at the end.

A catchy and creative poem with mild humor! Well done on a nicely written piece and an enjoyable read.

Ha! I was caught off guard by the ending. Having raised four daughters, I found it a delightful read. Great writing. God bless!
