TITLE: Let us pray
By Tim Pickl

As a Pastor, I check my Facebook account about once a month. “Coincidentally” I happened to be going through dozens of friend requests that night when the incident happened.

By the way, most of the friend requests were from many of you in our congregation. Now I know what you do with your lives all the other days of the week.

Suddenly a window popped up on my display. Across the top of the window was written in cryptic computer font, “Live video stream via secure satellite.” Also, scrolling across the bottom of the window was the interpretation into English what the person was saying in the window.

The person was standing in a poorly lighted room.

It was the oddest thing I had ever seen—I thought this could never happen on my Apple iPad.

You will not be able to close this window. At great risk to ourselves and to our families, we are using spy hacker technology for something good. We are broadcasting this message to as many North American Pastors we could locate on the internet. I am a Pastor under severe persecution in a country where the gospel is forbidden. I cannot tell you the name of the country, because even as I speak the internet police are catching on to what I am doing. Please hear me.

At that point, my iPhone alerted me. It was Jim, a pastor friend from another State. Are you catching this on fb?

I texted him back, Yes, let’s see what he has to say.

We feel compelled to tell you thank you for praying for us. You prayers are working. The Lord is miraculously answering your prayers. The underground church is growing by leaps and bounds. It seems that the more they try to stop the spread of the gospel here, the more it spreads… There is much sadness, too. My wife was tortured and killed in front of me, but she never relented. She never gave in to their threats and beatings. She never renounced Jesus Christ as God and Savior of her life. Now she is with the Lord, away from the brutality of evil men. Thank God.

Jim: this is amazing.
Me: I agree.

We know that many North American Christians have tried to send food, supplies and money. But very little of it actually makes it to the Christians. The government takes it all for their lavish lifestyles. I should not have said “government”. The internet police constantly scan for keywords and phrases. I know they are triangulating my location. Please realize, my dear Pastor friends and brothers in Jesus, this broadcast is a miracle. One of the government spy computer hacker cells which comprises of four men located in this country was saved! Three of the four men were hunted down and killed like dogs, but the survivor is operating the camera. One moment, please.

In the background, I heard yelling and then a loud crash.

We do not have much time, the internet police are already here. Since the “saved” spy hacker cell was discovered, they are diligently watching everything. Please note that this technology is now saving this video to your devices. Please show this broadcast to your congregations. Please fast and pray for us without ceasing. We love you. I love you...

Forgive them, Father. Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

At that point the camera instantly panned to the left, and an ominous face appeared in the display. One of the internet police added his comment.

You will all die for this insolence.

The camera faded to black, and there was only audio. Several shots were fired and from what I could figure out from listening to it several times was they shot both men and then the equipment they were using to broadcast their message.

I know I took a great risk by sharing this with you today, dear congregation. We need to fast and “pray for all saints.” So, we are joining churches across North America in 40 Days of Fasting & Prayer. This is not an ecumenical movement or some attempt to compromise our doctrine and traditions. No, this is God leading us to rise up and realize that, but for the grace of God, we would be in the same predicament, surviving moment-by-moment, preaching not in ornate and grand structures, but however and whenever we could. Church, do you agree with me and with us? We should and we can do this.

Let us pray.

Compelling, breath-taking read. You don't mention it is true but it, certainly, is the scenario in many countries today. Well done.

A very entertaining read, full of suspense.

It would make a great thriller if you take this little story and turn it into a novel.

I liked this!

Wow this is a gripping piece. You drew me in right away. It scares me because I know things like that could be happening right now. You did a great job of getting your message out there.

Oh my, I was gripped throughout this story. God help us to realize that so many give their lives in our world because of their confession of Jesus Christ. Well written, compelling, spellbinding. Thanks forsharing. God bless!

Whoa! This was a totally chilling and sobering account of what the world is slowly building toward.

Well written and riveting.

Hi -

Wow! Talk about an awakening. We need to be diligent about this reality. May GOD rescue His faithful people and give more holy bold strength to those who are in such positions. May love and joy flood from them, regardless. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Yes, we must pray in earnest.

Thank you for sharing this compelling piece. It certainly helped...and ministered in powerful ways!
