Oh, child of my womb,
Don’t listen to those who judge
who should be judged,
those who shake their heads
and mumble in the shadows;
listen to the angels sing,
hear the echo of love.
When you’re ready,
you’ll be born
Perfect
to me
Of God.

Oh, child of my womb,
When you’re ready,
you’ll talk.
Then your words will be
like sunshine
that lights my soul
like rain
that drips wisdom
into hearts.

Oh, child of my womb,
When you’re ready,
your determined footsteps
will lead you
to the whispers of the seas
or the height of the hills.
Someday,
But for now, you must grow strong.

Oh, child of my womb,
Your voice blazes with authority,
Your heart beats compassion,
Your strength is balanced
with the gentle spirit of a lamb.
Go, now you are ready.

Mother,
do not cry in your heart
as I leave;
the moment you prepared me for
has come.
It’s time for the message
from our Father
to go forth
and spread it’s flowering seed
to all who’ll listen.

You have loved me
as God loves you.

Mother,
Don’t see my pain,
see my joy,
the joy I’ll give to you
when I return.
For now
I wear the sins of men,
so all who believe
may be forgiven.
Rejoice!
For in three days
I rise
to victory.
I am ready to die
so you may be reborn
Perfect
to me
Of God.

One of the most powerful and awesome poems I have ever read! We seldom think of how much encouragment Mary must have given Jesus, but you provoke that thought in this wonderful poem! Amazing and a blessing to read! Kudos!

Wow, this brought tears to my eyes. At first, I was relating to the empty nest syndrome then the ending caught me by surprise and gripped my heart. Outstanding.
