A Letter To My Son

You have an appointment with destiny,
To become the man you are meant to be.
And these are the things that I pray for you,
To know in your heart that God's Word is true,
And seek for God's purpose with all your heart.
For only in Jesus can your life start
To make any sense in the chaos of
A world that's devoid of the Father's love.

It is an appointment that you must chose
To keep, lest your eternal soul you lose.
I pray that you'll listen and hear God's voice,
Weighing consequences with every choice.
And know that you're purchased with a high cost,
For without Jesus' blood, you would be lost.
For you, Jesus died on a cross, alone,
You must not forget, you are not your own.

You taste of a world that can never fill
Your life with joy, as only Jesus will.
With counterfeit pleasures the world deceives,
With loving arms open the Lord receives.
I pray that you'll finally start to see,
Your life full of God's possibility.
Keep your appointment, it's God's perfect plan,
For Jesus to make you a Godly man.
