“’Till death us do part”
Words spoke from the heart
On a beautiful morning in May,
“In sickness and health
In want or in wealth”
Joined together forever that day.
Before God and man
With two golden bands
Sealed a union that bound us as one,
As husband and wife
We’d treasure for life
What two people in love had begun.
Some times have been tough
The journey’s been rough
When horizons have vanished from view
But love has prevailed
Where friendship might fail—
Our commitment has seen us pull through.
The children have grown
Made homes of their own
And the cycle of life has moved on
Together we’ve aged
Our hearts still engaged
Though the sparkle of youth might have gone.
So onward we go
Though steps are now slow
Arm in arm down the laneway of life
We’re happy, at ease,
Contented and pleased
That God joined us as husband and wife.
