Undisputed Champion of Speculator Sports

It’s the final countdown,
And Spammer prepares to play
Without fans or fields
Or bases to steal.

Without mounds
Or baseballs
That grounds and quits
At the first hit.

No goal lines
No players to challenge
With soccer kicks
Or hockey sticks.

Without rackets
Twelve feet bars
Laced sneakers
Or packed bleachers.

Without flags waving
Eager crowds looking
For the final win
Above the din.

Count three, the game begins.
Words fly through cyberspace
With pitches pithy
Come-ons nifty.

He clicks to send,
Attracts the curious,
And scores, high scores,
But wanting more.

Plays unopposed
From .com to .net,
Undefeated, he admits
To clever tactics.

E-mails day and night
With time unlimited,
No name protected,
Anonymously selected.

Then One for the match appears.
Strikes with focused mitts,
With equal skill
And iron will.

Spammer staggers, bobs and weaves,
And then goes down.
This champion of Emails Elite
Defeated by Delete.

The enemy loves to disturb our minds with junk mail that distracts us from the true Word. He speculates on our falling for his lies. How comforting to know, by the power “that works in us,” we can delete Satan’s words and defeat him with the words of our Champion. We not only fight the enemy with God’s Word, but we can also depend on Him to fight for and with us.

...”For the Lord your God is He who fights for you, as He promised you” (Josh. 23:10).

This is really creative. I enjoy how you can turn a topic like spam into such a serious poem. Your footnotes are great and really illustrate your point.

Fabulous job of bringing home an important message, while staying on topic.

This was well written-you did a beautiful job.

God bless~

Loved this! Wish I could do that. Excellent point and spot on writing.

Creative, unique, fresh? Yes!

Loved the word 'Speculator' in the title, and I enjoyed how you symbolized the spammer, remaining out of the public eye and acting without structure, or rules, or boundaries.

And in the end, Spammer gets K.O.'d with one button.

Fabulous.

Very creative way to present and envision the topic! Great footnote too. Enjoyable read!

I wanted to cheer at the end. "Yay for DELETE!"
Great use of imagery!
