setting sails in stormy waters
and harbouring short of God's glory
I am the clay in the potter's hands
dizzy with joy
fearlessly sculptured
recreated daily
in the image of
a forever changing
steadfast God
Forgiven, adopted, set free
and risen from my slumber
I have dreamed dreams
and seen the future
with one foot in the now
the other in the not-yet
hope received
and expectations raised
I am the bride
blameless and holy
robed in white
mourning
waiting for my
majestic groom
as fair as the moon
and as bright as the stars
like the dawn
to ride the clouds of glory
and dance with me
Twelve gates
and twelve pearls
streets of gold
and our wedding feast
my lamb
will rest with his lion
and my counted tears will be forgotten
Trees of healing balming my soul
and rivers of life ushering my love
into the arms of my rescuer
my Lord, my saviour
I have big expectations
my splintered hands
have set the rudder
to tack the winds
of the coming age
until I harbour
in the embrace
of my lover
my groom and my king
I HAVE EXPECTATIONS
