You’re the dictator of your destiny,
Designing your own laws to live by;
You redefine crime
So other men are hung
When they don’t bend
To your will,
And felonies are no longer wrong
To you, but merely tools
For establishing your authority.
The “greater good” has become the rule,
The greater good for you, that is;
Justice is just a game
You play to win more favor,
Rewarding those who kiss your hand
And scourging those
Who look at you
The wrong way.
Your iron fist is not a tool
To make the people safe;
It is a rod to beat the people
A chain to keep them begging
At your heels.
But your redefinition of crime
Is just a façade;
Your games won’t change gravity
To make the planets orbit you.
Your iron fist will never twist
The hand of God!
Your felonies will chain you;
The scourging of the peasants
Stripes your soul—
Gravity will pull you down
As it always has before.
