I stomped my feet and clapped my hands
And raised my voice to shout.
I’d made it to the very end,
Refusing to drop out.
Long days I’d labored zealously.
I’d worked night after night.
I’d set my sights on victory
And fought a fearsome fight.
Some wondered why I persevered,
Had not been there for me.
They hadn’t see an end in sight,
Nor I, with clarity.
I’d used the talents that I had
And faltered not, nor failed.
I’d not let others make me quit,
Nor purpose be derailed.
I‘d not become discouraged when
Folks said I couldn’t do it.
I’d concentrated on my goal
Until I sailed right through it.
While others might have given up
And blamed it on whatever,
I’d taken pieces that I had
And put them all together.
I'd had some questions swirl about
Till finish line was near,
But picture I’d not seen before
Was now becoming clear.
I’m glad for my tenacity
From time I had begun.
Completing this was sweet for me . . .
My jigsaw puzzle’s done!
