OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN

GOD! So many battles
I think
how confused I am
new technology and old wars
wearying me
pain more constant than passion
ripping apart my rhyme
and reason seems left in yesterday

HALLOWED BE THEY NAME

JESUS! World so out of control
I feel
a blowout in my soul
pleading for a patch, a mending
to understand. Why? WHY?
I can rejoice at a manís death
yet refuse to pluck a jasmine
to watch it die imprisoned in a vase

THY KINGDOM COME

LORD! So much to ponder
I need
to see down the road
something more than blood
paving freedom, I sweat
the grime of terrorists
falling on unhealed scars
and victory smiles covering disillusion

THY WILL BE DONE

CHRIST! World needing Peace
I stand
embracing glory
understanding the need for war
detesting the need for war
I pray. I weep. I pray
far from stained glass windows
seeking, seeking - seeking TRUTH

ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN

I think you need to have lived through a war conflict to really appreciate this. I have, and it reached my heart. Well written. Thank you, and God bless you.

Ah....so much truth in this. "understanding the need for war..detesting the need for war" Good writing! God bless!

You have embraced the pain of trying to make sense of war, which brings out the best and the worst in people; and how do we open our hearts to God in all that confusion? Well done.
