A mind, small
limited by design
questions

Where will it begin, or when
A never ending something
A place, a space
Can we measure what we can’t yet fathom
Time means nothing then
in eternity

How can time be endless, if
there is no time in eternity
No sun to warm the day
Or moon to light the night
and pull the tides to distant shores
then back again
No
There is nothing
that speaks of time
in eternity

My reasoning finite
Immature
Earth bound still
No glimpse of what I cannot see
or hear, or taste, or feel, or smell
of eternity

Will I be fair skinned, olive or black
And speak the language of all colours
Will my children know me
and be mine
in eternity.

Those clouds of doubt, dark
descending
ugly
as each morning my spirit flits
Sunshine meadows, summer breeze
Cold grey headstones
on the hillside
etched with names
from past lives
Can I be sure
Of eternity

And those who chose a different path
to struggle blindly, never knowing
While I looked on without regard
never telling of
eternity

So much to know so little of
But to trust the one
who guards the secret closely
to reveal in time
Yes
Perfect time
to unfold eternity

Through grace my heart smiles,
knowing
For what I dimly see here now
is my hope of things to come
in eternity

Not bound by chains
or mortal gains
Constraints of time
gone
forever
in eternity

Sin never stains
where my God reigns in
Holiness
Wholeness
Knowledge
Answers and
healing
for me
in eternity

Perfect peace
and joy
and union
With the God who was
and is
and always will be

Timeless

Eternal

Our father in Heaven

Paradise,

in eternity

Isn't it great to know that we don't have to understand all of this; only to enjoy it and share it. I love your questions and the sense of freedom that you convey through this piece (or should that be peace?)

I thought this was stunning, "Where will it begin, or when -- A never ending something -- A place, a space -- Can we measure what we can’t yet fathom -- Time means nothing then -- in eternity" You have many sincere and heart-felt questions in this. I can sense your yearning for answers. Very nice!

You captured the questions about eternity expertly in these beautifully rhythmic poem.

I meant this not "these." Forgive me, I'm tired. :) This is still an awesome poem!
Shann Hall-LochmannVanBennekom 03/23/11
This just flowed delightfully. Many of the MC's questions are things I too have pondered.
