Little flower, do not cry.
Little flower, you are His beloved.
You crouch there in the sand, so afraid, so vulnerable and
weak. You say, “Where is the water? Where can I take a drink?”
Don’t you see?
Don’t you know?
The Lord is His name. He comes to wrap His hands around your tender
frame, to strengthen your backbone,
to turn your face to His.
You may be planted in the desert
little flower, but stretch out your roots; unfurl your head.
That noise your hear is the rushing of many waters.
The ice I stored up in the mountains has melted, and it’s headed
straight
for you.
Soon you will see that you were never alone.
All around you hidden underneath that dry sand are many like you-
thirsting,
crying out for a drink of living water;
and when I reach them as I am reaching you you will all rejoice
together
in me.
Even the wilderness will rejoice in those days. The desert will blossom with flowers. Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel's pastures and the plain of Sharon. There the LORD will display his glory, the splendor of our God. Isaiah 35:1-2, NLT
