TITLE: Inside My Flower World
By Mary Alice Bowles

Inside my world of make believe I become who I dream. I’m a celebrated poet called upon by the president of the United States to deliver a message of hope and encouragement to this great nation. I will plan that my message won’t be wasted for I must tell them about the flowers.

I will compare our people to the flowers. There are flowers of different colors, different sizes, and different shapes that all live together in perfect harmony and are nourished by Gods good earth. Within this gentle care ride the tides of time, because the life of a flower tells the whole story of mortal mans life cycle while here on earth. The flower will grow, set seed, and die. We mortals grow, set seed and die. Our whole mortal being is based on teaching the new seedling how to live, and then die. Be sure and teach the seeds you set about the only way from earth to heaven is through and by Jesus Christ.

Each flower that grows has a special meaning. Each little petal, each tiny detail of a flower was created by God. There are flowers that send messages of hope, love, faith, and truth. Each flower that blooms brings a different message. The daffodil brings the message of joy and happiness to the earth when she blooms in the early spring. Can we be like the flowers and send messages of love to the citizens of this wonderful nation?

Can you imagine a white carnation in the hand of every American? It brings the message of innocence and faithfulness. These beautiful flowers are handed out in almost every church across America on Mother’s Day. The white carnation represents the purity and strength of motherhood.

We should plant the white chrysanthemum across every lawn in the United States, it will remind us about truth and love, and actually it represents loyal love. It might remind the dads and moms in America to be loyal and true to the special one we vowed our love to with a round gold band.

Now consider this, a flower grows deep within the woods on the highest mountain where human feet can never touch. It was actually planted by the flight of an eagle’s wing. Who, but God could do this? It has no desire to be beautiful or pretty, but it gets just one spot of sun and three drops of rain, then the gentle earth pushes it upward and forward... The sound is heard round the world, even though it is the sound of silence. This pretty flower will grow, set seed, and die, but with the dying, it brings new life. In no time at all the whole top of that mountain is covered by flowers. Even though feet can never touch where this flower grows or it will never be plucked by human hand, God watches and is glad and happy because it is designed by nature and God is nature. God watches over his children like he watches over the flower. The flower has no thought of tomorrow, for its very existence is controlled by God himself.

Just like the flower seeds itself, we are the seed in itself. We are the very seed of Gods nature; he created us in his image to live forever and our souls will never die. Of all the beautiful things that God created, he loves us most of all because he sent his only son to die that we might live. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

My prayer for every American is that we will grab for life, eternal life. Just like the flower watches for the sun, let us watch for the Son.
